RAC foundation UK driving facts
Couple of useful bits of info including the numbers of cars and vans in the UK and confirmation that diesel drivers do about 50% more miles per year – exacerbating pollution from diesel vehicles that are already massively more polluting per mile

European Environment agency report of average CO2 of vehicles in EU
This report on the 2018 numbers explodes the myth that switching away from diesel has driven up CO2 in cars.
The reality is average CO2 is close to 121g & 123g for both petrol and diesel ( on NEDC figures ) but petrol SUVs are closer to 132g. Not stated here but diesel SUVs are even worse, around 143g because the biggest, heaviest SUVs esp those with engines over 2L are overwhelmingly diesel.
